How do I delete Walnut safely?
Delete it like any app: touch and hold the icon, then Remove App. Every lock comes off with it, even in the middle of a seal. No app stays locked.
Two things to know first:
- Your pieces, objects and streak live only on this iPhone, so they go with it.
- Deleting Walnut doesn’t cancel Pro. Cancel first in Settings › Manage subscription (see below).
My apps are still locked. How do I get in?
You can always get in. Open the locked app and choose to open it in Walnut, then hold to break the seal. It costs the last piece you placed, and you have 30 seconds to undo. During a seal, Settings › Emergency unlock does the same, even in Strict mode. If you have no pieces, it costs your streak; if you have neither, it costs nothing.
If a seal has ended but an app still shows the lock, open Walnut once so it can finish the seal. If that doesn’t help, restart your iPhone. As a last resort, deleting Walnut removes every lock.
My apps aren’t locked. Why?
Usually Walnut’s Screen Time access has been turned off. Walnut shows “Apps aren’t locked” when that happens; tap Turn it back on and allow access. You can also check in the iPhone Settings app under Screen Time, in the list of apps with Screen Time access. Time without access doesn’t count, and your object is safe.
Also check Settings › Locked apps in Walnut to see what a seal locks.
Why does Walnut need Screen Time access?
It is the only way an app can lock other apps on iPhone. Apple gives Walnut opaque tokens for the apps you pick, not their names, and nothing about what you do in them. They never leave your iPhone. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
In Walnut, open Settings › Manage subscription. Or open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Walnut. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge; Pro stays on until then. Deleting Walnut doesn’t cancel it.
The yearly plan is $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial; the weekly plan is $4.99 a week. See the Terms of Use.
Pro disappeared after I changed phones. How do I restore it?
Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you subscribed with, then tap Restore purchases in Walnut’s Settings (it is on the paywall too). Pro turns back on at no charge.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I missed a day. Is my streak gone?
Not right away. You can use a recovery until noon the next day: 2 a month on Free, 5 on Pro.
